Melissa Wu was born in Los Angeles and raised in Taiwan. For her undergraduate studies, she returned to California and earned a BA in media studies at University of California Berkeley. She has practiced qigong at Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy since she was seven, and has been active as a volunteer for the Federation of World Peace and Love, traveling to several countries.
