An organization founded in 2004 to promote the interests of the Uyghurs. It opposes what it considers the Chinese occupation of Xinjiang, a region it prefers to call “East Turkestan.” Mr. Dolgun Isa serves as its president, while Ms. Rebiya Kadeer was its past president.
