(MSS) 國家安全部. An intelligence agency, responsible for information gathering and analysis, counter-intelligence, and political security. The suppression of some religious groups is also placed under the responsibility of the MSS when the CCP believes that a religious faith is used by foreign forces to infiltrate China.
