Dolkun Isa is the former President of the World Uyghur Congress (WUC), Vice President of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO), and an elected member of the Leadership Council of the World Liberty Congress (WLC). He is also the author of “The China Freedom Trap: My Life on The Run” (2023). In 2016, he received a human rights award from the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation and the World Democracy Award in June 2019 on Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C. In June 2020, he formally requested that Sir Geoffrey Nice QC establish and chair the Uyghur Tribunal, an independent people’s tribunal, to investigate the ongoing atrocities and possible genocide against the Uyghurs and other Turkic minorities in the People’s Republic of China.
